What inspired you to start your business?

My own need to get my health in check is what spurred the beginning of my health journey. I was successful for the first time in a very long time losing the weight and keeping it off. It was a journey of healing and rediscovery and I want to inspire others that they always have the power to change their lives.

How does your business contribute to the local community?

My business helps the local community by connecting with others as a real-life person, right here in the community. I am real-life, living, and breathing proof that transformation can occur at in point in your life.

Can you share a memorable experience or success story related to your business?

A moment that will forever motivate me to continue my mission, is having a client who stepped away, and ignored repeated attempts to reach out and connect, not necessarily to have her return to Optavia. Rather, I was attempting to stay connected because fear of failure is a very lonely place to be and I never want others to feel that I do not believe in them as people first.

She eventually returned to her journey and thanked me for not giving up on her. She read each message and listened to each VM. That is the fuel that compels me to continue.

What challenges have you faced in building your business, and how have you overcome them?

Weight mismanagement is a very taboo topic. No one wants to hear that they are standing in their own way. No one wants to see someone else do something they wish they could do. I have been told I fat shame and I don’t understand what being overweight and out of control feels like. That is their first misstep. I do know and I try daily to connect with others, for them to see my heart, my genuine self, scars and all.

That’s how I overcome the judgment from others…..I keep doing the do! I consistently show up daily for those people, like me, who are feeling hopeless and question if this is as good as it gets.

What makes your business unique?

It is NOT just about weight loss. If someone is looking for a quick fix or fad diet, I am not the girl . I focus largely on mindset work. I call it heart work. That’s where most give up and throw in the towel. They say it doesn’t work. I coach on true habit change and it does not happen overnight.

I walk with my clients and I go to war for them. I support them and genuinely want them to be successful, to create a better existence for themselves.

What advice would you give to other small business owners who are just starting out?

Stick with it. Have fun. Find someone that is doing what you want to do and is succeeding. Park the ego. Find a mentor. Be hungry to learn and do not let other opinions sway you or make you feel defeated. Have a heart for serving others. That's the key, serving others.

How do you see your business evolving in the future?

I currently have 5 coaches under me and would LOVE for others to join me. This is the coolest job on the planet. I get to help others transform and make a living from serving others in that capacity. I want to reach as many as I can with my message of hope and change. I need partners to help me do that!!

Do you have a special message that you'd like to share with the community through this article?

There is absolutely nothing you cannot achieve. I spent years in a victim mentality prison. I was on autopilot each day. If you could make changes on your own, you would already be doing it. It’s hard to make lifelong changes. It’s messy. It’s uncomfortable. I had so many wrong ideas about life and myself.

Your biography determines your biology. Read that again. The stories that we tell ourselves, that we play on repeat, will determine our mental health and our physical health.

I want more than anything to help others rewrite their stories. I want their stories to be about courage and worthiness. I want their stories to be about helping others realize that life can be wonderful. I want others to pick up the pen and start writing a new chapter. I simply want to help those who want to be helped!

I love our community and want to help new homeowners find all the local gems that may not get enough exposure on social media.
